Julie Nelson is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of music. As the wife of cellist Steve Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys, she has shared her talents on the violin with audiences around the world. Performing at iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall stand among her most cherished memories.

Music has become a family legacy, as all four of her children are embracing instruments of their own, inspired by Julie’s dedication. Her own journey began at just four years old, after witnessing a violinist perform and convincing her mother to enroll her in lessons.

A graduate in music, Julie has an extensive background in teaching violin, performing in string quartets, and directing children’s choirs. She co-founded the original Maywood String Quartet and is delighted to see it evolve into a full ensemble.

Julie firmly believes that live music has the power to make any occasion truly unforgettable.
