Violinist Emily Rice is a passionate musician whose love for both ensemble and solo performances has shaped her lifelong musical journey. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Emily began performing for weddings and events at the age of 12 with her family ensemble, String Magic. She pursued her formal training under esteemed teachers before studying violin performance at Brigham Young University, where she immersed herself in various musical genres. In addition to her classical training, she frequently collaborated with a harpist for campus events, played as a fiddler in an internationally touring folk band, and even took up the bass to join a jazz combo.

For the past 18 years, Emily has been a dedicated member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, where she serves as an assistant section leader and has toured extensively. She is also a current performer with the Maywood String Ensemble, the Bountiful Philharmonia Orchestra—where she serves on the board—Salt City Strings, and the Steve Yancey Jazz Quintet. Alongside her performance career, Emily teaches violin, viola, and cello from her string studio in Bountiful.

Beyond her rich musical life, Emily cherishes spending time with her family, traveling, playing pickleball, and kayaking with friends. She is also a devoted wife and mother to six children.
